Howlers are bearded monkeys that are stoutly built, seem hunched, and have densely furred, prehensile tails that are bare at the tip for greater grip. Howlers are present in Southern American countries like Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay.

With the longest legs among all Turkey species, bigger feet, and bigger center tail feathers, the Gould’s Wild Turkey is undoubtedly the largest of the five subspecies. 

Its white-tipped tail and rump feathers are among the Gould’s turkey’s distinguishing characteristics, which gives the feathers an eyelash-like appearance. According to reports, Gould’s body plumage has a blue-green hue.

Vervet monkeys come in a variety of subspecies, but they can all generally be recognized by their yellow to greenish-brown covering of hair, which lends them the nickname “green monkey.”

A noticeable white stripe on the forehead fades in with the short whiskers, but the face, ears, hands, paws, and tail tip are all black. The size difference between the sexes is marginal.

Ocellated Wild Turkey is one of the most colorful turkey species. Both sexes have body feathers that are an iridescent blend of green and bronze in hue. They don’t have a “beard,” unlike other Turkey species.

The average weight of the males and females is 3-5 kg (7-11 lb), and its length ranges from 70 to 122 cm (28- 48 in). Both males and females have a distinctive blue head with a few orange or red nodules, with the males’ being more in number than the males.

This bird gets its name from the ocelli or spots on its tail, which resembles that of a peafowl.

Endemic to Borneo in Southeast Asia, the Proboscis Monkey is one of the Largest Monkeys in the world. The male proboscis monkey’s long, pendulous snout, which can measure more than 10.2 cm (4.0 in) in length, gives the monkey its characteristic name.

Its underparts are a light shade of red-brown. Males weigh an average of 20 kg (44 lbs) and are between 56- 72 cm (22- 28 inches) long; females only weigh approximately 10 kg (22 lbs).

The male and female monkeys both have protruding tummies that give them what looks like pot bellies. Despite official protection, this species’ population is in decline due to habitat degradation.

Unlike other primates, the Spider Monkeys lack an opposable thumb. The spider monkey looks for fruit throughout the day to supplement its meal, which comprises the majority of its diet.

During the dry season, when the fruit is scarce, they will also consume flowers, seeds, bark, leaves, and small invertebrates.
